How many years did the Israelites spend wandering in the desert? Forty. 4-0. FOR-TY years!
Whoa – seems like such a long time! But as I reflect back on three decades of my life, I can see a similar pattern. I was most definitely “prone to wander”.
On this most blessed, sacred Easter morning – it’s the prayer of my heart to never be that lost again.
Psalm 139: 23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (NIV – emphasis added)
I just wanted to drop a short blog post today to encourage you all in your own journey of faith! After years of wandering, looking back on all my doubts and fear, I am celebrating this morning in the story of Easter and shouting praise to my Risen Savior, just like Thomas.
John 20: 28 – 31 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Jesus did many other miraculous sings in the presence of His disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name. (NIV – emphasis added)
God has been so, so good to me in all that He healed my body, mind, and soul. Just like Thomas, I’ve had my own “touch and see” experiences with Jesus. I believe and I trust.
I’ll be back soon to share more about my decision to TRUST in God in all that He is walking me through on this journey. He’s laying some crazy things on my heart lately – and it’s time to be courageous and trust Him.
Are you trusting Him today? Not sure where to find a path to this trust? START in the Word. Every day. Let Him lead you. Nurture relationship. Pray for courage and then trust – and let me know how much He blows you away!
And HAPPY Easter, dear brothers and sisters in Christ.
