I am so excited to announce that my Keto story is featured in print in the “First For Women” national magazine. The publication date is January 7, 2019 – but it was released today! It should be in mailboxes and in magazine racks around December 18, 2018.
I was so honored that journalist Julie Revelant, chose me for her column on “The Tiredness Cure”. The focus of the story is how I reversed NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) and cured my chronic exhaustion through my ketogenic and intermittent fasting lifestyle.
I had a blast being interviewed by her and I felt like I was talking to a friend that really supports and acknowledged how beneficial Keto has been for my health.
I had to go to a professional photo shoot and have my hair and make-up done by a professional, too. HELLO…who knew that I would LOVE false eyelashes? I’m obsessed now!
Mega thanks to photographer Mary DuPrie and make-up artist Emili Cook for taking such excellent care of this amateur model. Modeling is hard – trust me! I didn’t think I got any of it right. It was a super fun way to spend an afternoon.
I’ll have more to say about this later – and will update! I have yet to get my hands on an actual copy.
Now that I have my hands on a copy of the magazine, I can share more!
I was contacted by Julie Revelant back in August. This story was 4 months in the making from initial contact, through several phone interviews, to the makeup and photoshoot, and finally to the print publication that was released on December 13, 2018.
I did NOT get to review the final product before it went to print. You might think I would be nervous about that, but after talking to Julie many times on the phone, I knew that she had a great understanding of my journey! Julie was kind, empathetic, and has a passion for improving women’s health. I knew my story was in great hands!
I’m really happy that the article focused on the healing of my chronic exhaustion and my NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease). Those are TWO of the things I celebrate the most in my journey of healing. I did a long blog series on my top 8 ailments that Keto has healed. You can read it here: Keto Heals.
In the sidebar of the two-page spread, I was thrilled to see that Julie had interviewed one of my very favorite Keto, LCHF, IF doctors – Ken D. Berry, MD! It’s an honor to be on the same page as him in this low carb world!
If you are new to this lifestyle, or just “considering” LCHF or Keto, I hope my story has encouraged you to take some steps to change your health. If you have belly fat, that is a tell-tale sign of having a fatty liver. Please, please, please see your doctor and explore the chance that you may be dealing with fatty liver. You can reverse it before it is too late!
This whole experience was a tremendous blessing, as well as being a ton of fun! The professional make-up was a hoot – who knew that I would LOVE false eyelashes. HA!
