Happy Independence Day my fat-burning friends!
Here in the USA today we are celebrating the day of our INDEPENDENCE. I love my country and the ideals of our founding fathers when they penned that Declaration of Independence 242 years ago! I am truly blessed to live in is free nation and thank God every day.
However, when I think of freedom lately, I can’t help but continually run a checklist in my mind of how my keto lifestyle has granted me so much freedom. It’s really mind-blowing and overwhelming and humbling when I think about it.
I wanted to share some of my freedoms with you in the hopes that it might encourage you to stay the course to reach your physical, emotional, and spiritual health goals!
Most recently I hiked 11 miles and climbed a mountain at Glendalough National Park in the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland. I could only do this hike because I was FREE from 100 extra pounds to lug around. It’s actually crazy how active I was on that three week trip. I think I did more physically active things on that trip than I have done in the past 20 years! FREEDOM!
About 8 months into my keto journey, I was able to ditch my C-Pap machine for Obstructive Sleep Apnea. My doctor confirmed with a sleep study that I no longer needed to rely on that cumbersome machine to sleep. I was FREE from that nightly pain in the butt. Oh, trust me, I was happy to use it in the beginning because my sleep improved drastically the very day I started using it. But I no longer need that assistance! FREEDOM!
I can get through each and every day without having to worry about where my next meal is coming from. As a fat burner, my body has adapted to burning fat for fuel and I can go hours without getting “hangry”. I am FREE from thoughts centered on food. I can travel, I can get hung up at work, I can go on an 11 mile hike without food! FREEDOM!
I am FREE from daily aches and pains. No more headaches, no more migraines, no more joint pain, no more inflammation, no more insomnia, no more cystic acne…to name the few biggies. I am able to feel healthy and energetic and FREE from pain all day, every day. FREEDOM!
I no longer worry about diseases I was racing towards. I know that my diet will keep me FREE from a future of Type 2 Diabetes and other metabolic diseases. Reversing Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease was such a huge relief! FREEDOM!
So much FREEDOM and I wish the same for you my dear readers! On this “Independence” Day – I hope that you seize the idea of FREEDOM for your physical, emotional and spiritual health!
