Have you ever sat in a conference all day long and instead of being exhausted, you craved more? Yes, that was my day two. Mid-afternoon I was actually thanking Jesus that He has healed my chronic exhaustion! This trip would have been incredibly exhausting 100 pounds ago!
Day two I met many overwhelmed, excited, frazzled, redeemed, restored, blessed, and called dreamers. I heard stories of cancer, divorce, wreckage, infidelity, and adoption (and gals this one is a huge story of redemption – you should click that link and read the story of the Redeemed Bride). WOW! I also met a sweet lady that has lost 300 pounds so far! That is just truly life-changing.
And guess what?!? We were all taking DEEP BREATHS on the day as God overwhelmed our brains and our hearts.
How amazing is His overwhelming love for us, that we can go in cold to a situation and come away with a burning flame? I’ve had this happen a lot this year, and I can now wrap my brain around some purpose for all this.
This two day conference helped define and confirm my purpose for stepping out into the unknown. Three topics specifically, stirred my heart and maybe will inspire you, too:
Calling– has God planted a stirring in your heart? Is there something that gets you out of bed in the morning? These are just a few questions to ask yourself.
These questions got me thinking and agreeing…YES, there is something that gets me excited and took me on this totally unexpected path of building a blog! And then speaker Suzie Eller made this statement that kinda smacked me upside the head…
“If God is asking us to do something and we hesitate, it becomes about us.”
Ephesians 2:10 speaks directly to this:
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
God has placed a deep passion in my heart to help people that have been stuck and hurting in their years of obesity and the vicious cycle of dieting. I love to inspire and motivate people to better health – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It is pure joy hearing stories of restoration.
I truly think our health habits and reliance on food for emotional support is something that is not talked about in the church enough. I pray every day for God to use me as an example to just one person a day. I’m relying on Him to share His message through the work of His Holy Spirit. I am so grateful for the journey He has taken me through to prepare my heart for others. I’m starting to accept this could very well be my calling!
Vision– I realized while I was sitting in my sessions that I have a vision, even though I didn’t realize it was a vision! I had to formulate this a bit in my mind when I started this blog. With lots of prayer and study, I am trying my best to lean into His guidance. And hey – I have a verse for that!
Proverbs 29:18 (NLT)
When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild.
But whoever obeys the law is joyful.
I’m all about the JOY! My vision statement for my website is:
Motivating people to invest in their “journey to joy” through a Keto, LCFH, & Intermittent Fasting way of life to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.
I’m thankful that God has placed this vision on my heart and is guiding me in how best to help you in your own journey.
Dream– I never in my wildest dreams dared to dream BIG. When anyone asks about my journey, I tell them I am just a blessed girl journeying through this joyful Keto life. But now I can acknowledge that I do have dreams. I believe that God will call people to an abundant, blessed life to serve Him passionately.
On my flight home from the conference, I was led to Ecclesiastes 3. A familiar passage about “A Time for Everything”. As I went further into the chapter, it was absolutely no coincidence that God brought me to this passage at the end of this conference. Check out verse 22 and how it points back to verse 13:
3:22 – So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?
3:13 – That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.
Is it possible that God has something in store for work that I will enjoy? I think YES. There is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work.
Now, I do have to say that I do love my day job, I truly do. I have been blessed for many years to work for a small company with an amazing boss. I can serve God there if that’s where He wants me, but I am ready to dream for bigger things like helping people who have lost hope in their healing and health.
I am so very thankful that I had the privilege to attend this conference. One of the last quotes of the night, shared by Lisa Allen, sums it all up! Dare to dream dear readers. Amen.
